Dr. Daphne Cooper is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University where she earned both her Masters and Doctorate degrees. Originally from Bloomfield, CT, she joined the faculty of IRSC in 2014.
Dr. Cooper is a scholar in the field of Government and Public Policy, Urban Politics and International Relations. Prior to IRSC she served as an Adjunct Professor at Clark Atlanta University, Spelman College, Atlanta Metropolitan College, and Georgia Gwinett College where she taught American Government; State and Local Government; Intro. to Public Policy; Electoral Politics; World Politics; and Intro. to International Studies.
Dr. Cooper is a member of the American Political Science Association (APSA), The Political Science National Honor Society (Pi Sigma Alpha), The National Conference of Black Political Scientist (NCOBPS), and also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
Dr. Cooper is currently serving as the department chairperson.
