David Yankwitt served in the United States Army as an Infantryman. David was assigned to the 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division and deployed to the Kunar Province of Afghanistan from July 2008 to June 2009 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. After David's service in the United States Army, David returned home and attended Indian River State College. David graduated from Indian River State College in 2011 and was a recipient of the "Who's Who Among College and Universities" Award. David earned a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Florida Atlantic University in 2013, a master's degree in political management from The George Washington University in 2015 and a master's in political science from the University of Nebraska--Omaha 2020. David is also a guest lecturer for the Martin County Library System and educates the public about his tour in Afghanistan and American-Afghanistan relations. David's research interests include American Government, Civil Rights, Political Parties and Interest Groups, Campaigns and Elections, State and Local politics, and US Foreign and Domestic Policy.
David Yankwitt joined the IRSC faculty in summer 2022.
